Ketu dasa results and remedies-II ( Major results of Ketu (Kethu) Main period as per Indian Vedic Astrology-)

Ketu dasa results and remedies-II ( Major results of Ketu (Kethu) Main period as per Indian Vedic Astrology-)) Ketu one of the nine planets as per the Indian Vedic astrology, which is also known as Dragons tail is one of the first rate malefics as per the Vedic system. In my earlier posts I have discussed about the general nature of the ketu ( Kethu) in as much as the mundane astrology is concerned. Ketu being a chaya graha ( shadowy planet) does not have its own or exaltation sign . However ketu normally exhibits the character of Mars as the Sanskrit dictum says “ Kujavath Kethu means kethu is like Mars . Some of the ancient Vedic texts attribute Scorpio as the exaltation sign of Kethu and Leo or Virgo as the own sign though there is no unanimity in these theories. However the experience shows that ketu gives favourable results in these signs and as such can be considered as auspicious signs for the planet. Besides the sign in which ketu is placed , the position of the planet from the ascendant , the position of the same from the natal Moon , the stellar position of the planet , the planet with which it is associated and the planet which is aspecting ketu all have to be considered while judging the results of ketu and its Mahadasa ( Main period of Ketu). The position of the dispositor and the strength of the dispositor of ketu are other matters of importance. Ketu dasa results depend on all these factors and as such a comprehensive and holistic view need to be taken before arriving at any conclusion. It has been my experience that ketu is not as harmful as it has been depicted or been considered. While the dragons head or Rahu , no doubt does irreparable damage in ones life during its main period should the planet is malefic and ill placed. The story goes that the demon ( Asuras) that swallowed the nectar obtained from the ocean of milk after the great churning by Devas and Asuras ( The semi gods and demons) was killed by Lord Vishnu by cutting and separating the head from the body. The power of the nectar made him eternal and he transformed into two planets the head as rahu and the body as ketu. Though the intention of the story may be to indicate the evil character of these planets , the Head being Rahu longing for body has always materialistic ambitions and people who are having the main period of Rahu gets material benefits after some loss , either in the form of bereavement of dear and near ones or after irreparable damage to ones own health . Ketu on the other hand being the body always longs for the head , which represents high thinking and as such help get spiritual advancement. ( to be continued…)
